We had continued driving through from lasts nights scheduled stop to get to Lusaka so we cold he the structural problems issued
We had tried to get hold of the rally contacts, but no answer.
This mornings army we took off with the maintenance guy from the intercontinental hotel to a mate of a mates place
We pulled the car apart and the fuel tank out and got into the modifications with a sledge hammer
The rear inside wheel arch had collapsed by the time we arrived in Lusaka
I had asked FDA workshop with a mig or tig welder, but the guys we had found only had oxy acetylene. This time the local contacts found us, so we opted to move the car to a better location by car trailer. We spent about 6 hours sorting the issue and hopefully we have a result to help us through to Cape Town. The roads will not be as rough as we have had, and hopefully more what like we expected for the whole trip. Well see
We were no charged for any of the work a,d the people were wonderful, helpful and happy
We saw a fair bit of Lusaka and it looks like a dud pace to visit, it too affected by modernity.
Hopefully shell hold together for 6 days!!
